In Grades 8 and 9 students take the following subjects: English, Afrikaans, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Human and Social Sciences, Information Technology, Arts and Culture, Music, Life Orientation, Economic and Management Sciences and Technology. In addition they choose one third language, either French, German or Xhosa.
In Grades 10, 11 and 12, compulsory subjects include English, Mathematics, Life Orientation and Afrikaans (or French or German for those exempted from Afrikaans). A further three subjects are chosen from the following: Physical Science (Science), History, Consumer Studies (Home Economics), Life Sciences (Biology), Geography, Information Technology (Computer Studies HG), French, German, Visual Arts (Art includes painting, screen-printing, ceramics, graphics or sculpture), Accounting, Music and Dramatic Arts (Drama). Advanced Programme Mathematics (Additional Mathematics) may be taken as an optional eighth subject.
All students are encouraged, during their last three years, to complete the ICDL (International Computer Driver´s Licence), an internationally recognised computer literary course.
