Preparatory

Eagerly anticipated by all pupils, the final year of the Preparatory School is full of opportunities to be explored and challenges to be met. Culminating in the Grade 7 Experience, an action-packed fortnight at the end of the year, students are given time away from the regular curriculum and exposed to situations and activities that will help them gain the skills needed for Senior School and beyond.

With a range of activities including community outreach projects, a first aid course, an introduction to SCUBA diving, rowing and rock climbing, this is more than simply an experience - it is an adventure waiting to happen. The children are taken away on a weekend camp where they are required to plan, purchase and cook all their own meals. The scrap yard challenge makes use of the skills learned during technology lessons; pupils are posed a problem and, as a team, must create a solution from the scrap lying around the school workshop. One of the Preparatory School's highlights, the year-end Grade 7 Experience has become an event all pupils look forward to, providing ample opportunities for personal growth.
