Somerset College awards scholarships for 2011

Grade 7 candidates from local schools were deserving recipients of scholarships for high school study at Somerset College recently.

Somerset College awards five scholarships annually to deserving candidates.

The scholarships are awarded on merit to current Grade 7 pupils for the duration of their high school study. Successful candidates are those who have shown exceptional talent and have an excellent record of achievement in one or more of the following areas: academic studies, sport, cultural pursuits and leadership at primary level.

Deserving recipients for the 2011 scholarships were Meekaa-eel Hendricks (Somerset West Primary), who received the Open All-Rounder Scholarship, Bianca van der Westhuizen (Somerset College Preparatory), who was awarded the Open Academic Scholarship, Josh Henderson (Somerset College Preparatory Closed Scholarship), Sinead van Eeden (Somerset House Closed Scholarship) and Ambar van der Wath (Rhenish Primary School Closed Scholarship).
